Last Week I began the post-production phase for my 495 experimental short. As I started working on the film I was flooded with mixed emotions of  excitement, happiness, apprehension, and anger. I was so eager to start editing my 4-minute rough cut, that I completely forgot to convert/compress my footage. Since I shot on a Canon 7D I have to convert every clip from the camera in-order for them to properly work in FCP. Needless to say, my blinding excitement resulted in me wasting 5 hours on a rough cut, that I have to completely re-do with the converted clips. The first week's work rate and output also helped me put my project into prospective. I began to understand the full scope of the daunting project and the many elements/layers/steps that will make the final piece. Many, many hours of work are required to create a film that replicates my vision of the finished project. Despite these minor setbacks and deep workload I am very excited to push forward and continue to work on the initial stages of post-production.
